File Preparation

Media Formats Accepted:
  • 3.5 “ Floppy Disk
  • Zip Disks
  • CD and DVD
Files Formats Accepted:
  • QuarkXpress
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Pagemaker
  • MS Publisher
  • Adobe PDF (See notes below for optimal PDF creation)

File Preparation Guidelines:
  • Photo files should have a resolution of 300 dpi or greater at final size.
  • PDF files must be created “oversize” if bleeds are needed, preferably 1/8”.
  • When creating PDF files, be sure that “Press Optimized” is selected in Acrobat Distiller before creating the PDF.
  • Colors should be defined as Black, Pantone Spot Colors, or 4/C Process (CMYK), Not RGB.
  • Page layout document should match the size of the finished piece.
  • Use crop marks from the print menu – do not place crop marks within the document manually.
  • Photo files should be saved as .tif or .eps, not jpeg. Do not use jpeg encoding.
Submitting Files

It is important to package your layout file, graphics, images, and fonts together into a folder. Your page layout program can assist you.
  • QuarkXpress: File/Collect for Output
  • Adobe InDesign: File/Package
  • Adobe Pagemaker: Utilities/Plug-ins/Save for Service Provider
Compressing Files

Files should be compressed before submitting them via E-mail or FTP:
  • Mac Files – Use Stuffit to create a .sit folder
  • PC Files – Use Zip-It or WinZip to create a .zip folder
File Size

If your file is less than 10MB, it can be sent to our e-mail address info@printingnh.com. File sizes greater than 10MB can use our FTP site ftp.printingnh.com. Please call your customer service representative for your secure user id and password.
